" Rire sans forcément prendre le risque de mourir idiot pourrait être la devise des Superamas... Qui s'en plaindra? "
Les Inrockuptibles 2008

Empire (Art & Politics) is partly a fictionnalized reconstruction based on a Napoleonic battle that took place close to Vienna in the year 1809. Surprisingly enough  this deadly conflict has been claimed a victory by both opponents, the French and the Austrians.
Superamas deals with this battle to evoke another Empire, contemporary this time : The invisible Empire of modern capitalist democracies. "Goods, money, text, image and notoriety" – these are the five avatars that keep capitalism alive and kicking, as Peter Sloterdijk puts it. Empire (Arts & Politics) is made this way.
The performance leans against various modes of representation; plastic, choreographic, dramatic and cinematic.
With Empire (Art & Politics) SUPERAMAS bears a take on international politics, acknowledging the impossibility of representing some aspects of the "real" world.
